Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Harrow
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community in Harrow. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting both teachers and students, contributing to a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons, ensuring all students can engage and progress in their learning.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, particularly those who require additional assistance.
- Support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting learning materials and activities to meet their individual needs.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Assist with classroom preparation, including setting up resources and displays.
- Supervise students during break and lunchtime as required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is essential.
- Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
- A valid DBS check is required, or willingness to obtain one before starting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient, proactive, and compassionate approach to working with children.
