Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a strong team dynamic in Hackney. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis. Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individual learning plans
• Support students in their academic and personal development
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Collaborate with the teaching team to assess students' progress

Qualifications

• Previous experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis
• Understanding of different learning styles and individualized learning plans
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Relevant qualifications in education or special education are desirable

Day-to-day

• Work closely with students who require individualized support
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to develop and implement tailored learning activities
• Provide emotional and academic support to students with SEN
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to ensure consistency and progress
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in supporting students with SEN
