Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Location: West Ealing
Start Date: Immediate start, to continue into the next academic year
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Are you passionate about working with young children and have the confidence and experience to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If you’re dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of children, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in West Ealing as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with Year 1 students, providing essential support tailored to their individual needs. A significant part of the role will involve working with children who have Special Educational Needs, so confidence in this area is absolutely essential. You will help create a nurturing and engaging environment where every child can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with SEN, ensuring they feel confident, included, and able to access the curriculum.
  • Assisting the classroom teacher with implementing differentiated lesson plans.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support, encouraging progress in academic, social, and emotional development.

This is a rewarding position where your ability to connect with and inspire children, particularly those with SEN, will have a lasting impact on their learning and self-confidence.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident and experienced in working with SEN children, understanding their needs and challenges.
  • Familiar with strategies and approaches to support a wide range of learning difficulties or behavioral needs.
  • Able to demonstrate a positive, empathetic attitude and patience in all interactions.
  • In possession of a valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • Experienced in a school setting, ideally in a similar role.

What We Offer

  • A supportive school environment where your contributions to students’ success are valued.
  • Opportunities for professional development to enhance your SEN expertise.
  • The chance to play a key role in helping children reach their potential and develop confidence.
