Year 1 Teaching Assistant
Location: West Ealing
Start Date: Immediate start, to continue into the next academic year
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PMAre you passionate about working with young children and have the confidence and experience to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If you’re dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of children, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in West Ealing as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with Year 1 students, providing essential support tailored to their individual needs. A significant part of the role will involve working with children who have Special Educational Needs, so confidence in this area is absolutely essential. You will help create a nurturing and engaging environment where every child can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students with SEN, ensuring they feel confident, included, and able to access the curriculum.
- Assisting the classroom teacher with implementing differentiated lesson plans.
- Providing one-on-one and small group support, encouraging progress in academic, social, and emotional development.
This is a rewarding position where your ability to connect with and inspire children, particularly those with SEN, will have a lasting impact on their learning and self-confidence.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Confident and experienced in working with SEN children, understanding their needs and challenges.
- Familiar with strategies and approaches to support a wide range of learning difficulties or behavioral needs.
- Able to demonstrate a positive, empathetic attitude and patience in all interactions.
- In possession of a valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
- Experienced in a school setting, ideally in a similar role.
