Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Full Time, 8:30am -4pm
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience
Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a collaborative team in Dagenham. You will be working in a an additional resource unit in a mainstream primary school supporting students with sever SEN needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the educational and social development of students with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in creating and implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to support the diverse needs of students
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs
- Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support individual needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and understanding towards students with diverse needs
- Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs is desirable
Day-to-day
- Work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of SEN students
- Implement individual education plans and monitor progress
- Provide additional support during lessons and assist with adapting materials for individual needs
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to develop strategies for supporting student needs
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
