Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full Time, 8:30am -4pm

Location: Barking and Dagenham

Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a collaborative team in Dagenham. You will be working in a an additional resource unit in a mainstream primary school supporting students with sever SEN needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the educational and social development of students with special educational needs
• Assist the class teacher in creating and implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to support the diverse needs of students
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with students with special educational needs
• Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support individual needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy and understanding towards students with diverse needs
• Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs is desirable

Day-to-day

• Work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of SEN students
• Implement individual education plans and monitor progress
• Provide additional support during lessons and assist with adapting materials for individual needs
• Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to develop strategies for supporting student needs
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
