Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This role will involve working closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support to children in Key Stage 1. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early years education, patient, and skilled in helping young children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, including those with additional needs.
- Support children’s social and emotional development, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Help prepare classroom materials and resources, ensuring a stimulating learning environment.
- Supervise children during playtimes and other school activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Track and report on children’s progress, celebrating their achievements and identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
- Passion for education and a commitment to supporting children’s learning and development.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs) support strategies.
- Relevant qualification in childcare or education.
