Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Full Time- 8:30am- 4pm
Location: Richmond Upon Thames
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive school community. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing support and guidance to students with special educational needs, ensuring they reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to SEN students, helping them access the curriculum and make progress in their learning
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalised learning plans for SEN students
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and supports the social and emotional well-being of all students
- Assist with the physical care needs of students, including personal care, mobility, and sensory requirements
- Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and communicate effectively to provide regular updates on progress
Qualifications
- Experience working with SEN students in an educational setting
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the diverse needs of students with disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential)
Day-to-day
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized assistance to students with special educational needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve adapting to the unique requirements of each student, offering practical and emotional support, and actively contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
