Responsibilities
- Support students with SEN needs in both individual and group settings, assisting them with academic tasks and facilitating their social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN needs.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students, promoting diversity and equality within the classroom.
- Provide assistance with personal care and mobility needs, ensuring the safety and well-being of the students at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with students with SEN needs in a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Understanding of different educational needs and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual requirements.
- Relevant certifications and training in supporting students with SEN needs is desirable.
Day-to-day
- Work closely with students, providing individualized support and guidance in their learning and development.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff to create inclusive learning activities and adapt teaching materials to cater to various learning styles and abilities.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior support, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
- Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on student progress and seeking input on their individual needs and goals.
