Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Wandsworth. The ideal candidate is someone who has previous experience covering lessons, strong subject knowledge, and experience supporting children. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the classroom teacher and ensuring the academic success and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and providing individualized support to students
  • Cover lessons in the absence of the teacher and ensure a productive learning environment
  • Support students with their academic and personal development, offering encouragement and assistance as needed
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who require extra help
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Qualifications

  • Previous experience covering lessons and supporting children in an educational setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to effectively communicate and explain concepts to students
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion within the classroom

Day-to-day

  • Assisting the teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
  • Working with students both inside and outside the classroom to provide support and guidance
  • Collaborating with the teacher to assess student progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Communicating with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student performance and well-being
