Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic Primary School in Richmond Upon Thames. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and previous experience working with SEN students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN
• Provide one-on-one support to SEN students in the classroom
• Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Help SEN students with personal care and mobility, if needed
• Support students in developing social skills and emotional well-being

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Previous experience working with SEN students - Challenging Behaviour, Autism, ADHD is ideal
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude
• Relevant qualifications in education or a related field

Day-to-day

• Providing one-on-one support to SEN students
• Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans
• Collaborating with the classroom teacher to ensure inclusive learning opportunities
• Supporting students with personal care and mobility, as required
• Contributing to the social and emotional development of SEN students
