Job Title: Science Teacher
Job Type: Full time, 8am-4pm
Location: Greenwich
Salary: £150 - £200 *Depending on experience
Overview
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Science Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join an inclusive and diverse Secondary School. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for teaching and be committed to creating an engaging and accessible learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the school's curriculum and educational standards
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and respected
- Planning lessons for KS3 and KS4 Biology, Physics and Chemistry
- Use a variety of teaching methods to actively engage students in the learning process
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall development of the Science department
- Participate in school-wide activities and events, including parent-teacher meetings and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- A degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is preferred
- Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong track record of student achievement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the classroom
- An understanding of and willingness to meet the needs of a diverse student population, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities
Day-to-day
As a Science Teacher, you will spend your days planning and delivering lessons, assessing student work, providing feedback, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging in professional development activities. Your work will be focused on creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students, promoting a love for Science, and helping students achieve their full potential.
