Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting SEN Needs? Do you enjoy building relationships with students to aid development?
A Primary school in Hackney are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them supporting students with Autism and ADHD. They are situated in the center of Hackney and focus on bringing a positive work environment for all members of staff.
Location: Hackney, London
Position Type: Full-time
Hours: 8:30am-4pm
Salary: Competitive, based on experience Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Working on a 1:1 and group basis with key students – monitoring progress regularly
- Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across various subjects and year groups.
- Supporting students in class who require additional help with their learning.
- Assisting with the preparation and organization of teaching materials and resources.
- Supporting students with special educational needs or disabilities to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
- Promoting positive behavior and a supportive learning environment within the classroom.
- Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative approach to education.
- Supporting the teacher in assessing student progress and providing feedback on their achievements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role (preferred but not essential).
- A passion for education and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young learners.
- Strong SEN knowledge (ideally in Autism and ADHD)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom settings and with students of varying abilities.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development as required.
