Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Full time - 8:30am - 4pm
Location: Camden
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School who fosters a supportive work environment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN and a passion for providing support to students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualised support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
- Assist the teacher in implementing personalized learning plans for students with SEN
- Support students with their educational, personal, and social development
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Help to manage and maintain learning resources for students with SEN
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Previous experience working with children or young people with diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Relevant qualifications in special education or related field (desirable but not essential)
Day-to-Day
- Engage in one-on-one or small group support sessions with students
- Assist with classroom activities and monitoring student progress
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and external professionals regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to SEN support
