Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our diverse and inclusive school community. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge and understanding of the humanities subjects and will be able to inspire and motivate students to engage in critical thinking and exploration of society, culture, and historical context.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and inclusive lesson plans for humanities subjects, including but not limited to history, geography, and social studies.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and create an inclusive classroom environment.
- Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor, evaluate, and support student progress.
- Foster a love for learning and promote critical thinking and analytical skills among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider community to support students' progress and well-being.
Qualifications
- Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- A degree or higher qualification in humanities subjects or education with a focus on humanities.
- Proven experience in teaching humanities subjects, preferably at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current educational practices, theories, and critical pedagogy.
- Ability to create an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive learning environment for all students.

- Planning and delivering inspiring and engaging lessons.
- Monitoring and supporting student progress and well-being.
- Collaborating with colleagues and engaging with the wider school community.
- Continuously developing and adapting teaching practices to meet the needs of diverse learners.
