Cover Administrator
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum dependent on expereince
Contract: Term-time + 2 weeks + PD DaysAre you an organised and proactive individual looking for a dynamic role in a thriving educational setting? We are working with a school who is seeking a dedicated Cover Administrator to join our team.
About the Role
As a Cover Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of staff cover within the Academy. Reporting to the Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Timetabling & Operations, you will oversee the Cover Diary, liaise with supply agencies, and provide administrative support to ensure minimal disruption to student learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing staff cover arrangements, including tracking staff absences and scheduling cover supervisors or external supply teachers.
- Proactively covering lessons where needed to minimise the use of external staff.
- Liaising with supply agencies, arranging cover staff, and ensuring they are welcomed and supported upon arrival.
- Maintaining accurate records of staff absence and reporting daily updates to key staff members.
- Working with HR on long-term cover bookings and ensuring all records are up to date.
- Assisting in the production of key data reports for meetings with the Board of Trustees, Local Authority, and Ofsted.
- Supporting the organisation of the Academy calendar and staff duty rotas.
- Promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people in accordance with Academy policies.
About You

- Proactive and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A confident communicator, able to liaise with staff at all levels.
- Comfortable using IT systems for administration and record-keeping.
- Adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM.
- Term-time plus 2 additional weeks and PD days.
- Availability during pre-results and results days in August is required.
