Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a Secondary School in Wandsworth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to engage students in the wonders of science through innovative teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum and cater to diverse learning styles
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate
• Utilize a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly
• Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall improvement of the science department
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide progress updates and support as needed

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required
• Proven experience teaching Science, with a strong understanding of the subject matter
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion within the classroom and school community
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners

Day-to-day

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons that foster critical thinking and scientific inquiry
• Provide support and guidance to students, including one-on-one assistance and feedback on assignments
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities and enrich the science curriculum
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported in their academic journey
