Job Title: English Teacher

Job Type: Full Time, 8:30-4pm

Location: Merton, London

Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience

Overview

The ideal candidate will have previous experience teaching English up to GCSE level and will possess a strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum. Experience in teaching students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is ideal but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons, tailored to the needs of each student
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic growth and personal development
• Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with SEN to ensure their academic success
• Collaborate with other faculty members, parents, and support staff to address the educational and emotional needs of students
• Foster a love for literature and language through creative and innovative teaching methods

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
• Previous experience teaching English up to GCSE level
• Strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum
• Experience working with students with SEN needs is ideal but not essential

Day-to-day

• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons
• Assessing and evaluating student progress
• Providing support and guidance to students with SEN
• Collaborating with colleagues and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students
• Participating in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities
