Job Title: English Teacher
Job Type: Full Time, 8:30-4pm
Location: Merton, London
Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience
Overview
The ideal candidate will have previous experience teaching English up to GCSE level and will possess a strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum. Experience in teaching students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is ideal but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons, tailored to the needs of each student
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic growth and personal development
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with SEN to ensure their academic success
- Collaborate with other faculty members, parents, and support staff to address the educational and emotional needs of students
- Foster a love for literature and language through creative and innovative teaching methods
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
- Previous experience teaching English up to GCSE level
- Strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum
- Experience working with students with SEN needs is ideal but not essential

- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons
- Assessing and evaluating student progress
- Providing support and guidance to students with SEN
- Collaborating with colleagues and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Participating in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities
